Announcement: Ischgl opening day 2021

Dear guests, Ischgl-fans and locals!

Everything is a bit different this year. Yesterday's announcements by the Austrian Federal Government made this clear again!

What do the new rules mean for us?

Instead of opening the resort on the 17th of December 2020, we will have to wait for another week. Starting on the 24th of December we will be able to open the lifts and welcome back locals & day-trippers to Ischgl. We are really looking forward to some safe skiing over Christmas and New Year’s and we can’t wait to welcome back our guests really soon!

The official start of the winter season in Ischgl is planned for January 7th, 2021 due to the ongoing regulations for restaurants, hotels and accommodation providers.

Here is an overview of the most important facts:

lifts and gondolas in Ischgl ski resort will open limited on the 24th of December 2020

Restaurants in the ski resort will remain closed until the 7th of January 2021

Toilets will be open all over the ski resort

NEW: In closed cable cars like the Silvrettabahn A1 we will only allow 50% of the regular capacity of passenger at a time.

More detailed information on which areas will be accessible, which lifts and slopes will be open and whether or not guests will be able to cross into Switzerland will be published in the next few days

Touring: Due to safety reasons the slopes will be closed for ski tourers.

You can find our extensive safety and hygiene concept on our website:

Other important information:

Supplies: Supermarkets are open, some restaurants are offering take-away options

Shopping: Sportshops etc. will reopen on the 7th of December 2020 (more details on individual shops will follow)

More informations about other wintersports will follow

Events: There will be no fireworks on New Year’s Eve this year

Public transport

Parking: Parking will be available as always

To finish things off we wanted to show you some photos that our team has taken up in the resort this week. We are expecting even more snow over the weekend!
