Winter holiday Galtür

Enjoy the white wonderland

In a nutshell, Galtür’s winter climate can be described as “snow-sure”. Our altitude 1600m and weather patterns mean that even in “lean” years there is always plenty of snow. Our snowfall usually begins in October and continues until June, with December-March being the peak time for constant fresh snowfall. Spring also brings different but still excellent conditions, with opportunities for fresh powder and soft "firn-schnee" (spring-snow) skiing throughout April and into May. Our Hotel Galtür offers the ideal location for your winter holiday.

The snow-covered peaks and clear winter air invite you to enjoy a variety of activities. The Galtür ski area and the Ischgl-Samnaun ski area offer pistes for all levels of difficulty. Whether beginner or experienced skier, everyone gets their money's worth here. The modern lifts ensure a comfortable ascent to the summits, from where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-covered landscape. For cross-country skiers, there are perfectly groomed trails that lead through the magical winter landscape. A special highlight is the night trail, where you can glide along under the clear starry sky. Snowshoe hikes and winter walks are also popular activities to experience the tranquillity of snow-covered nature. In addition to sporting activities, Galtür also offers cultural highlights. The Alpinarium, a museum and adventure centre, provides an insight into the history of the region and the way of life of the mountain dwellers. Here you can learn more about life in the Alps and the challenges that winter brings in this region. The wellness area in our Galtürerhof or the Silvretta Therme in Ischgl provide the perfect end to a day in the snow.
